The Great Rose Garden Ladybug Release 2018
San Jose Municipal Rose Garden, Dana Ave & Naglee Ave, San Jose

The Friends of the San Jose Rose Garden will be releasing about 80,000 ladybugs into “America’s Best Rose Garden.” The first 200 kids that present a weed that was pulled from a rose bed will get a dixie cup of ladybugs. Ladybugs sponsored by Park Station Hashery.

This is the first Global Smart City Summit in Silicon Valley where cities (including Santa Clara), private industries and academic institutions from around the world will work together to discuss issues they face in their sectors. The goal is to reduce the problems encountered in each city, while also creating new business opportunities to improve the overall lives of millions.

Organizers include Cupertino Council member and former Mayor Barry Chang, Santa Clara Mayor Lisa Gillmor, Santa Clara Vice Mayor Kathy Watanabe and Cupertino Mayor Darcy Paul. Topics include transportation, energy, healthcare, financial tech, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and big data.
