Here’s a quick summary of items from tomorrow evening’s City Council meeting:
- Appointment of Acting City Clerk Nadine Nader until the elected City Clerk is sworn-in at the December 18, 2018 Council meeting. Nader has experience and a good reputation. She replaces Jennifer Yamaguma who is headed to Milpitas. Yamaguma did a good job taking over for Rod Diridon, Jr. who suddenly resigned. She was much better as a clerk than a public information officer. We wish her luck.
- Interviews and appointments to the Senior Advisory Commission, Board of Library Trustees and Planning Commission.
- City staff will report on being cleared in anonymous allegations made to the California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) and California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS). The complaints were published in the Santa Clara Weekly in a story written by Carolyn Schuk. Another big mistake for the “official newspaper of Santa Clara.”
[…] The FPPC handles complaints and investigations about political campaigns in the state. They usually do one of two things. The FPPC dismisses allegations if they think there’s nothing there. That’s what they did with the “anonymous” allegations against the City recently. […]

In the last 100 years there have been four people who served as City Clerk. In 2018 there will also be four people who serve as City Clerk.
