AWARDS: Best and Worst of the Week — SF Giants and Miles Barber

By Robert Haugh

The Good — The Leg Drop Award:

Last Friday, SF Giants CEO Larry Baer was caught on video having a physical altercation with his wife. By  Monday, the team said Baer is taking a leave of absence.

Kudos to the Giants for moving fast and doing the right thing.

The Bad — The Jabroni Award:

Santa Clara Weekly/SV Voice Publisher/Lobbyist Miles Barber had another column corrected by the City.

Barber has been corrected twice already in 2019 by City press releases for getting tons of facts wrong in his column. So has his top reporter Carolyn Schuk.

Maybe they’re competing. The person who makes the most mistakes in writing wins (loses?). The City Council should give the winner (loser?) a special commendation. And the City staff should write a press release about it.

  1. Always a loser! Congratulations Miles Barber and comrades-in-arms!! We know you aren’t alone in your negativity towards the City.
