The Good —The Leg Drop Award:
County Assessor Larry Stone decided to appeal the huge 49ers tax break that the Assessment Appeals Board gave the team.
The Bad — The Jabroni Award:
Stone decided to appeal only after he learned that the City was preparing to go to court this week.
And Stone hasn’t been completely straightforward about some important facts like how much the tax break total is and his potential conflict of interest.
Bad idea letting Stone do the appeal. The city should proceed with it’s own appeal. Where’s the harm?
The old good news bad news scenario. It might have been better if we had sued. If his appeal is as half hearted as his original defense we are not in good shape. Keep on top of it, if you can.
