AWARDS: Best and Worst of the Week —  Kyle Kaiser and Lou Mariani

By Robert Haugh

The Good —The Leg Drop Award:

Santa Claran Kyle Kaiser was one of the 33 drivers who competed in the Indy 500 this week and was a Cinderella story. He’s a Bellarmine grad and Santa Clara University student, too.

The Bad — The Jabroni Award:

Lou Mariani is trying to get a massive development approved on the El Camino. But he’s been hiring and letting go of consultants a lot over the last couple years. That’s not a good sign for the project.

  1. It would be great to see a nice development there with restaurant bars and retail. Unfortunately Lou doesn’t want any part of the retail, just wants to stack and pack. No value to the neighborhood just destruction.
