Santa Clara’s Northside Library opened 5 years ago. Happy Anniversary!
It’ll celebrate its anniversary with extended hours from 50 to 58 hours each week. The Northside Library will open on Sundays for the first time and have additional Monday and Tuesday hours, too.
Beginning Sunday, August 11, the library branch will be open on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and open one hour earlier and close one hour later on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
That’ll be great for a lot of people who work and can’t get to the library until Sunday or after work.
“Since the Northside Branch Library opened on August 9, 2014, it has been buzzing with activity,” said Hilary Keith, City Librarian. “We are excited to continue expanding services by offering an additional eight hours weekly for community members to use their library.”
The Northside library is at 695 Moreland Way in Santa Clara.
August 10 Celebration
To commemorate the anniversary and extended hours, the Library will host a celebration on Saturday, August 10 which will include the following schedule of events:

10 to 10:15 a.m. – Welcome and Recognition of 5-Year Anniversary

10:15 to 11 a.m. – Puppet Arts Theater presents The Three Little Pigs Puppet Show*

11 a.m. to 12 p..m. – Bay Area Hula Show

12:15 to 1 p.m. – The Bubble Lady*

The Santa Clara City Library Foundation and Friends will host a $1 book sale in front of the Northside Library on Sunday, August 11 from 1 to 4 p.m. It’s popular, so get there early for the best selection.There will be a wide array of books for sale for all ages.

Keep reporting the way you do. It’s great. The stories on the council meeting are a good review. Not too long. Your insights and humor are appreciated. You really know what’s going on in Santa Clara. With all due respect to Ken Kim, his issue doesn’t deserve much more coverage than what you gave it.
Will, you are right if you tie the reporting to my personal status. Actually I am not a part of Friendship city endeavor so I do not deserve anything beyond what’s reported. Just a readers opinion. That’s all.
I see no news on Friendship city (Ichon Korea) event and am wondering why.
