AWARDS: Best and Worst of the Week — JLL and Kylli

By Robert Haugh

The Good — The Leg Drop Award:

Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL) and their VP Dan Fenton got a lot of compliments from City staff and the Council Tuesday night. This only happened because Councilman Raj Chahal pulled their contract extension off the consent calendar. He raised objections that made no sense. Chahal didn’t seem to know about all the work JLL did to turn around the Convention Center. The City staff and Council reminded him. Then they voted against Chahal, 5-1.

The Bad — The Jabroni Award:

Kylli wanted to amend and extend an old development agreement for a project they didn’t want to build. That made no sense. The Council rejected it because the old development agreement was bad for the City. And it was old. Now, Kylli looks like they’re in trouble with their mega development. The FAA put them on hold last year. It looks like they lost some trust at City Hall.
