Local officials are encouraging everyone to wear face coverings when in public areas like grocery stores and when picking up food at restaurants.

The County of Santa Clara County Department of Public Health does not require a mask to be worn when exercising outdoors. We can walk or bike without one on. But health officials suggest face coverings be carried just in case it’s needed — like when within six feet of others.

In Los Angeles, it’s required to wear a mask when residents go to essential businesses like grocery stores. That rule went into effect a couple of weeks ago. 

Some Santa Clara County sources think we will make it mandatory, too, in the near future.
