AWARDS: Best and Worst of the Week — The City Council and the NOT the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce

By Robert Haugh

The Good —The Leg Drop Award:

The City Council reduced campaign expenditure limits for council races to $25,000. That makes a lot of sense and will make council races more competitive.

The Bad — The Jabroni Award:

The NOT the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce has raised a small amount of money to help Santa Clara businesses who need help. They said they wanted to partner with the City. They need to step up because the City has.

  1. Becker the unachieved is wrong again. All I am saying Anthony is that you haven’t accomplished much in any capacity. That doesn’t equate to guiding the city.

    • It’s irresponsible to provide false information without facts
As a blog that wants to share information I would hope that to your sources are credible and truthful instead of promoting false propaganda.
Once again where are your so sources

  2. Great, your not a felon. This would be the longest paying job you have ever had.
I personally believe you do not have the background or experience to lead our city which includes billion dollar businesses.
Have you checked your credit rating lately?

    • Again, no name but pretty much figured out who it is and it is no surprise. Those who remain nameless are often hiding something themselves.

Again baseless claims with no proof and another classist attempt to discredit someone. Negativity and bully mentality.

Lots of us are working class, so not all of us are millionaires. This city was built by blue collar hard work and everyone struggles. Most people have to work their way to their goals and don’t have the luxury of a silver spoon.

But I will reiterate those who remain nameless probably need some faith in their life.

  3. Not classiest at all. Why would anyone want someone that can’t manage their own finance’s direct taxpayer money? Doesn’t seem like a good idea.
I’m glad you have ideas and no business experience. Or do you?

    What are your qualifications?

    • Finances? 🤔 🤷‍♂️
once again no proof of these false allegations.
And again nameless…. why hide and be anonymous…I would love to discuss these assumptions and where you get your facts and sources.

As for qualifications, I check all the boxes. Born here, long time Resident, planning commissioner, registered voter with many great ideas for the future of this great city.

Again trolling with no cited sources or backup.

Just sounds like someone is afraid of someone getting the job done and standing up for Santa Clarans.

      • People just need to look at your 460s for 2018 and see how you literally ate through your donations. The only thing you were good at was keeping yourself fed.

        • Keeping my volunteers fed because we couldn’t afford to pay them. Robert Haugh your negativity is really frightening. We all know it’s you

          • Mr. Becker, I can 100 percent assure you it’s not me commenting! You can believe what you want, but I only comment under my name. You really need to grasp that all comments here are verified with emails and calls. I’m not the negative one making comments.

            • I would love to believe that.
Maybe you should actually interview individuals and ask real questions. Like last election you never once called for a quote or information when u reported false news on me. Journalists are supposed to be unbiased and ask questions to the person they report on.

  4. A mid aged person almost living out of their car is not a success story, kind of sad. If you can’t manage your own life, why should we trust you with Santa Clara?
    God bless you, but no!

    • lol
in defense of myself it’s pretty funny.

living out of my car ? lol where do you get your facts ? where is your proof? I in fact have my own place, so i just debunked your statement.

nameless and without credible facts or proof. This is called trolling.

Trolling: In internet slang…a troll is a person who starts Flame wars or upsets people on the Internet by posting inflammatory and digressive,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the intent of provoking readers into displaying emotional responses[2] and normalizing tangential discussion,[3] either for the troll’s amusement or a specific gain.

Where is the positivity on working together? Santa Clara would be in great hands with me.

  5. Maybe Anthony Becker should work for the Chamber? They both seem to be financially unsuccessful… If you can’t manage your own life, please don’t try and manage ours.

    • More conspiracy theories….Without proof or credible sources.
At same time a very classist thing to say.
When someone pushes for changes…. fear makes those Individuals turn to bullying, harassment & hate. History has proven this. I experience it here.
Once again they remain nameless because they are afraid others will see the cruel intentions in their heart and more than likely it’s someone we all know.
Why can’t you all just get along and try to work together ?
