Best and Worst of the Week in Santa Clara: Santa Clara University Women’s Soccer and Councilman Suds Jain

The Good — The Leg Drop Award

It’s been 16 years since Santa Clara University (SCU) women’s soccer team played in the College Cup. Yesterday, they beat North Carolina. On Monday, they play Florida State for the national championship. Go Broncos!

The Bad — The Jabroni Award:

The California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) made it official this week that Councilman Suds Jain cannot vote on downtown development issues because his wife Lori works at SCU. It’s pretty clear that Jain misled voters multiple times about his conflict of interest.

  1. Being a district 5 resident it is difficult to not feel deceived or or just plain lied to by Suds Jain. It seems the concerns for District 5 and Santa Clara are just a very small part of his own personal agenda.

It’s so sad to sell out your friends and neighbors. If you believe in karma there will be equity.
