This Saturday morning at 6:59 am, the Santa Clara Fire and Police Department Honor Guards will commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11.
The location will be at the City Hall flagpole. The 6:59 am time corresponds to the tragedy when the South Tower of the World Trade Center collapsed.
Bagpipes will conclude the short event. Attendees are asked to wear masks.
The ceremony will be broadcast live at Facebook.com/SantaClaraFD on the Santa Clara Fire Department page.
After the event, a video of the ceremony will be on the City’s Facebook, YouTube channel, and on the City’s website.
The 49ers block on our city council who recently voted to cut Santa Clara police officer positions, out of respect for the public safety officers who gave their life on 9/11, should stay away from the 9/11 ceremony, imo.
