Best and Worst of the Week in Santa Clara: The 49er Five and Former City Attorney Brian Doyle

By Robert Haugh

The Good — The Leg Drop Award:

Former City Attorney Brian Doyle tried to get on a future City Council agenda to warn the City that 49er exec Al Guido is misrepresenting things to FIFA to bring World Cup games to Levi’s Stadium. He failed on Tuesday but don’t count him out.

The Bad — The Jabroni Award:

The 49er Five (Anthony Becker, Raj Chahal, Karen Hardy, Suds Jain, and Kevin Park) were outed by the San Francisco Chronicle for meeting every four days with the 49ers. This week, they changed the curfew to help the team. And proposed supporting a FIFA bid without knowing any details like what the Mission City is on the hook for. Wow.

  1. I remember when corrupt politicians at least made an attempt to appear impartial. These five don’t even bother to try and conceal the fact that they are bought and paid for by Jed York. What a sad state we’ve fallen to.

    • …start with the lowest hanging fruit. Becker won his district with only 40% of the vote. That means a whopping 60% did not want him and after seeing him in action these last ten months, I’m sure that number is much larger now. It would be easy to eliminate Becker then focus on Park and Jain. Chahal and Hardy won’t make it past the ’22 elections no matter how much the 49ers back them.

Let’s go District 6, GIVE BECKER THE BOOT!

    • Great idea, I thought Becker was the least intelligent. Karen Hardy Seems drunk.

Becker has the most to lose as well. Could put him back in his car unless Aunt Patty helps them out. He loves to Jed. What do you think Becker would do for a meal let alone an apartment?
