Breaking: Arrest Warrant Issued for Disgraced Former Santa Clara City Councilman Dominic Caserta

By Robert Haugh

An arrest warrant was issued for disgraced former Santa Clara City Councilman Dominic Caserta.

According to the Mercury News, Caserta has been charged with forgery and falsifying financial statements on a loan application.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office filed two felony charges against Caserta last month. A few days ago, a warrant for his arrest was issued.

According to the DA’s office, Caserta forged six Foothill-De Anza Community College pay stubs from July 31 to Oct 31, 2021 on an application for a $690,000 loan. The lender was Finance of America Mortgage.

Caserta resigned from the City Council in 2018 after campaign staffers and former students of his accused him of sexual abuse.

Caserta recently sold his home in the Old Quad neighborhood for $2 million.

This is a breaking story.

    • David, always good to see other Buchser grads involved. The Mayor can use all the help she can get. Funny side note, I clicked on the link… yeah… that’s not going to happen.

  1. Mr. Dominic Caserta could have benefited from Proverbs 16: 5, 17-18
5.The Lord detests all the proud of heart.
Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.

    17.The highway of the upright avoids evil;
those who guard their ways preserve their lives.
    18. Pride goes before destruction,
a haughty spirit before a fall.

This is the way of an arrogant and prideful person, who is blinded by his own self.

    • Not what I was getting at. The guy deserves to be punished by the law within the guidelines of the law. Sexual assault is not a joke.

    • Neither is harrassing female HS students, looking down their shirts in class, making them uncomfortable, wearing nothing but towels in the company of female students that you are mentally abusing while they are working to get you elected.

  2. Jerk has hurt many. Hope he doesn’t get $.01 from SCUSD and Foothill sues him for every towel he owns.

Karma Caserta, here’s some sage advice. Don’t bend over when behind bars.

  3. Here are two statements, and one question.

I’m actually glad the crime he is being charge with is just financial.

If you had only one vote. And you could only vote for either Caserta, ….or any of the current 49er Five City Councilpersons, who would you vote for?

Even if he was up for Murder… someone would vote for him. Santa Clara is done with these 49er Five puppets.

  4. Double wow!
Realizing he is not guilty, just charged, but what are the odds he didn’t?
Not him, of course, but some people think they are smarter than everyone else and just do what they want.
Sounds like he is accused of making up income he didn’t earn to qualify for a loan. A little more serious than claiming academic credentials you didn’t earn on a job application.
Double wow, because it is forgery AND fraud.
Won’t we feel silly if Foothill-De Anza Community College actually did pay him and just forgot?
