Best and Worst of the Week in Santa Clara: Recall and 49ers

By Robert Haugh

The Good — The Leg Drop Award:

Rumors have been spreading around the Mission City about a potential recall effort for some of the 49er Five for a while. Thanks to Burt Field, we’ve learned a little more about it. Looks like Coucilmembers Anthony Becker, Suds Jain, and Kevin Park will have to answer soon to voters about how they’re paying back the 49ers. They may get some unexpected help.

The Bad — The Jabroni Award:

The 49ers won’t be paying our general fund anything even though they plan on making $68 million in revenue this year from stadium operations. Worse yet, they want Santa Clara taxpayers to pay to replace the Levi’s Stadium sign. Can you recall a stadium manager?
