A new website targeting Councilmembers Anthony Becker, Suds Jain and Kevin Park has gone live. It’s SaveOurSantaClara.com.
A friendly reader noticed it online this weekend and sent it to Santa Clara News Online. (Hat tip to our great readers).
Recall organizer Burt Field acknowledged it’s part of his effort.
“Yes, that’s our website,” said Field. But we haven’t officially launched yet.”
The site is functional now and allows people to sign up in the district of each Council member. According to Field, a few people have found the site and signed up already.
“I’m filing a Form 410 and will get an FPPC number before we start collecting checks,” said Field. “Stay tuned.”
Field says he’s waiting a couple of weeks for “some shoes to drop” before he files the official recall statement. “It should be explosive,” he said.
Once things are official, organizers and volunteers will have approximately four to six months to collect signatures depending on the size of the district.
This is a developing story.
Why is the recall effort aimed only at Becker, Jain, and Park? Why not also Chahal and Hardy?
I suspect because Chahal and Hardy are up for re-election against other candidates this November. This is one of the first elections in some time with just two candidates for each Seat.
