The Mission City has grown tremendously over the years. During our growth and change, many small businesses have come and gone. So we’ll feature both the new and the old. We hope you’ll patronize them. We will make this a regular column in the future.
Here’s a couple small businesses in our spotlight this week:
Milo’s Collectibles
63 Washington Street
www.miloscollectibles.com
(408) 296-6190
This unique store in the Merry Mart plaza is the go-to place for all things sports. The recently opened businesses owned by Santa Clara husband-and-wife duo, Milo and Linda Leca is new to Santa Clara, but they are not new to the sports collectibles industry. In addition to carrying almost anything sports related (football, baseball, basketball, hockey, NASCAR), the store has a huge pro wrestling selection and hosts autograph signings with sports stars and pro wrestlers. Don’t be surprised to see me there. They also participate in many Santa Clara and Silicon Valley non-profit and civic activities.
Hungry Hound Restaurant
1000 Lafayette, Suite C
(408) 241-2756
A popular lunch destination, Hungry Hound has been around Santa Clara for awhile, featuring freshly made burgers, sandwiches, such as a great Philly cheesesteak and side dishes like salads, French fries and potato salad. They also make old fashioned milkshakes from scratch. It’s a casual place with lots of Santa Clara University customers. I’ve been there many times and I have never been disappointed in a meal.
Editor’s Note: If you have a suggestion for a small business that should be featured, email me.
