Only three South Bay pizza restaurants made the SF Chronicle’s Best Pizza in the Bay Area list.
A Slice of New York on Stevens Creek Boulevard (and Sunnyvale) was one of them.
Kudos to the staff and its founder, Santa Clara business leader Kirk Vartan.
Here’s what the Chronicle wrote:
With locations in San Jose and Sunnyvale, a Slice of New York is a fixture in the South Bay for its respectable, generously sized and crisp-bottomed slices. Those range from uncomplicated, like a garlicky margarita or pepperoni, to very involved day-of specials, garnished with mushrooms and bacon or Italian sausage and meatballs. The humble pizzeria meets all your pizza needs, whether you’re looking for whole pies, calzones or stromboli. The San Jose location is where you go for a quick lunch while the Sunnyvale location offers more seating and cold beer.

The other pizza restaurants in the South Bay that made the list were Slice of Homage (San Jose) and Veta (Redwood City).
