Sutter Expands in Santa Clara with New High-Tech Care Center

By Robert Haugh

Sutter Health is expanding its presence in Silicon Valley with the opening of the new Sutter East Santa Clara Care Center at 2441 Mission College Blvd.

The 300,000-square-foot facility will open to patients on October 20, offering a full range of outpatient medical services under one roof.

The center marks the first phase of Sutter’s new East Santa Clara Campus. It’s part of a broader plan to build 27 new outpatient care centers across Northern California by 2027, including sites in Livermore, Morgan Hill, and Milpitas.

The initiative aims to reduce long wait times and improve access to specialty care in fast-growing regions like Santa Clara.

The facility was developed in collaboration with the Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group. It will include urgent care, primary care, advanced specialty services, diagnostic imaging, lab testing, and mental health care. Specialized clinics will offer cardiology, neurology, urology, OB/GYN, ENT, endocrinology, dermatology, gastroenterology, and pediatrics.

“This campus is designed with the patient at the center,” said Dr. Kurt VandeVort, CEO of Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group. “By integrating multiple specialties, ambulatory surgery, urgent care, and advanced imaging and lab services in one location, we’re streamlining care delivery and making it easier for patients to receive coordinated, high-quality care close to home.”

The Santa Clara expansion signals Sutter’s growing investment in outpatient care to meet the region’s rising healthcare demand.
