The weather is warm and the “summer” concert season has essentially kicked off. There’s an array of events coming up in and around Santa Clara.

Here are just a few upcoming events:

Saturday, May 20

Ana Aranda at Books Inc. Santa Clara

2 to 4 p.m.

Muralist and illustrator Ana Aranda will read her book, The Chupacabra Ate the Candleabra. There will also be a drawing demo, interactive craft and a mural making session. Free. Recommended for ages 5+

“The Noodle” Cook Off – Celebrating Asian Pacific Heritage Month

Whole Foods Market Santa Clara, 2732 Augustine Drive, Suite 1600, Santa Clara, 95054

3 to 5:30 p.m.

Whole Foods and the Santa Clara Cultural Commission present this event featuring a cooking competition, food tastings, vendor fair and cultural entertainment. Mayor Lisa Gillmor will be among the special guest judges.

Monday, May 22

Santa Clara Sustainable Residential Project EIR Scoping Meeting

Santa Clara City Hall Council Chambers, 1500 Warburton Ave, Santa Clara, 95050

6 to 8 p.m.

This meeting will focus on the project location at 1834 Worthington Circle (previously 90 N Winchester Blvd – BAREC) and allows the community to provide input on the environmental impact report.

Red, White & Brews at California’s Great America

Red, White & Brews, a hometown celebration of Americana food and fun, takes place May 27-29 and June 3-4. Red, White & Brews will bring the Hometown Square area of the park to life with locally sourced food experiences, more than 25 regional craft brews, Northern California wines, Bay Area bands, outdoor games and kids’ entertainment.
