For Thrill Seekers: Great America Will Announce New Ride

On Saturday, Aug. 16, Great America will announce a new attraction. IF you want hints, check out The Inside California’s Great America Facebook page. The unofficial site shares a lot of details and comments on the new attraction. So does Coaster 101, a website dedicated to roller coasters. It’s good to see Cedar Fair investing in the theme park.

For Parents and Educators: SCUSD Announces Coding Partnership

Santa Clara Unified School District (SCUSD) recently announced a partnership with Code To The Future, to add computer coding into the daily curriculum at Sutter and Montague Elementary Schools.

The partnership allows teachers to engage students in block and text-based coding activities. SCUSD will launch its two computer science immersion schools later this month.

For Meat Lovers: Fleming’s Steakhouse Coming to Santa Clara

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar will open at the Santa Clara Square development on August 28.

In addition to being known for steaks, ”The Fleming’s 100” is the wine director’s hand-picked list of wines that you can buy by the glass or bottle. The Mercury News has a nice, brief write up about the restaurant.
