Esperanza Castellanos celebrated her 107th birthday on Wednesday. And the Mission City celebrated with her.

There was a car parade past her home that included fire trucks and police cars. The St. Clare Parish choir sang for her. And Mayor Lisa Gillmor showed up to declare January 13, 2021, as Esperanza Castellanos Day.

Esperanza was born in 1914 and moved to Santa Clara in 1945. Wow.

She told reporters that she eats oatmeal every morning. Someone should call Quaker Oats.
