The holiday season starts in Santa Clara tonight as the City hosts its annual Tree Lighting event in Central Park.
Presented by Silicon Valley Power, the free event promises a joyful evening filled with festive entertainment and Mission City spirit.
Starting at 5:30 p.m., Central Park will transform into a winter wonderland, brimming with activities for the whole family.
Eager children can meet Santa for a photo and receive a special Teddy Bear to cherish.
Local artists, from the Santa Clara Dance Team to the vibrant Santa Clara Portuguese Band, will showcase their talents on the Holiday Stage throughout the evening.
This year’s celebration recognizes Ana Vargas-Smith as the 2023 Honorary Tree Lighter.
At dusk, she will lead the countdown, sparking a symphony of dazzling lights.
Delicious food and treats will be available from local vendors like Texas Snowballs and 3 Hermanos Mexican Grill.
Booths hosted by City departments and community groups will offer valuable information and opportunities for engagement.
The spirit of giving will also be present at the event through the Santa Clara Fire Department’s Holiday Toy Drive. Guests are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys for children ages 7-17 for families in need.
Just some advice for all of you council members, make you sure you do not approve the SVP 10 % increase, and it better be unanimous.
