City Council Preview: Mostly Routine Items

Tonight’s Santa Clara City Council meeting includes mostly routine items. 

Here are some of the agendized items:

  • Study Session — Joint Meeting with City Council and Board of Library Trustees
  • Closed Session — Conference with Real Property Negotiators — Hyatt Hotel Site located at 5101 Great America Parkway
  • Closed Session — Conference with Real Property Negotiators — Techmart Office Complex located at 5201 Great America Parkway
  • Recognition of STEM Winners for the Santa Clara County 2023 Synopsys Championship Science Fair
  • Consent Calendar — Action on Lease Extensions for Properties at 900 Lafayette Street (Commerce Plaza) and 1000 Lafayette Street (Peddler’s Plaza) until May 31, 2025, with an option to extend until May 31, 2026.
  • Public Hearing: Adoption of a Resolution Ordering the Abatement of a Nuisance on 228 Parcels for Weed Abatement
  • Public Hearing: Action on a Vesting Tentative Map for the Proposed Development of a 198-Unit Housing Development with Four Commercial Condominiums at 5185 Lafayette Street

  1. It sounds routine but with this council there’s always a say to turn the simplest things into a 3-ring circus.

    • David, great comment, and a lot more that can be said, however sometimes silence says a lot as well.
      All I have is one vote… all I have is one voice.
      Our City deserves better….
