The early results from last night are preliminary.
Kelly Cox is en route to a landslide triumph in District 6 over indicted Councilman Anthony Becker and George Guerra. Cox has secured over 50 percent of the vote thus far. Becker and Guerra both have about 25 percent of the vote – Becker just 11 votes ahead of Guerra.
Cory Morgan has a landslide two-thirds lead over Mario Brasil in the Police Chief race. Morgan has over 10,000 votes to Brasil’s just over 5,000.
Bob O’Keefe leads a tight four-person race for City Clerk leading Steve Kelly by just under 10 percent followed closely by Poornima Gopi. Paul Tacci is a distant fourth, recording approximately 15 percent of the vote.
Incumbent 49ers supported Suds Jain leads David Kertes in District 5 by less than a 10 percent margin.
49ers supported incumbent Kevin Park leads Teresa O’Neill in District 4 by approximately 13 percent.
Albert Gonzalez holds a commanding lead in District 1 over Satish “Sunny” Chandra and Harbir Bhatia. Gonzales has about 55 percent of the vote.
Measure I, Santa Clara’s $400 million facility and infrastructure bond is tracking to be approved by over a 2-to-1 margin.

It’s a reflection of the type of people that live in our city when a criminal like Becker gets 1,000 votes. Those that voted for him are F’n morons. Also disappointed that Measure I looks like it will pass. At least Prop 5 appears to be a loser.
I was proud and happy to vote for VP Harris. Her concession speech ieas filled with hope. She reminded us we owe our loyalty to the law. You owe your loyalty to the city. Keep fighting for tye city

The 2026 election has begun

Well….
Maybe you all feel a little bit like me right now.
Confused, disenchanted, discouraged, frustrated.
What is more telling is why I am not feeling any anger or hate this morning.
It’s crazy what you can learn as you go through life, but what I have found to be true is that anger and hate are feelings that only hurt the vessel that carries those feelings.
So in simple terms that even someone as simple minded as Kevin Park could understand, those two negative feelings are poison, they will ultimately kill its host.
So, how bad does the situation in our City have to get before others will see where this is heading?
I will pose this simple question to all the 49er City Employees.
You have two trains going in opposite directions, but on the same track.
What outcome do you see happening here?
For me, I’m grabbing a chair, maybe some popcorn.

Burt all due respect I think you and some have landed on that the two trains are going opposite directions, but perhaps maybe it’s just a hard learning curve that sure maybe the city expected 20billion by now. Perhaps the niners expected the lions share of revenue already and big corp versus small town issues may arise and could go on forever but ultimately the people have spoken and done so in a few different elections now. Perhaps just maybe it’s time to work together and mutually give and take to make the situation as best it can be for the city. May not be zillions and may not be a loving relationship but I think each side can do good business. Unity is needed more than anything and grinding the axe week after week to these moments has landed nobody anywhere.
