During the Anthony Becker felony perjury trial, the prosecution disclosed that Santa Clara Councilmember Kevin Park spoke with former 49ers Executive Rahul Chandhok the day before a Grand Jury report was leaked.
Park spoke with Chandhok for about seven minutes on October 6, 2022, around 11:30 a.m. District Attorney investigators discovered the call after obtaining a search warrant for Park’s messages.
But Park failed to disclose the call on his calendar as required by City policy.

Park lists only an evening event on October 6 on his public calendar. That was for a “KFSC Planning meeting.”
Four days later, Park reported a call with Chandhok and another 49ers executive Larry McNeil on October 10, 2022, regarding “Stadium issues summary.” That’s the same day the Grand Jury report was officially released.
Becker was convicted last week of leaking the Grand Jury report to Chandhok and lying about it.
Chandhok testified that Becker sent him the report on October 6. That’s the same day that Park and Chandhok spoke.
Becker will be sentenced on January 31, 2025, and could serve up to four years in prison.
During the trial, investigators said that if additional information about leaks were discovered, additional charges could be filed.

Park is the most juvenile of the three. He is a liar with no ethics.
No one will ever forget
the 🦕 book and Park
insulting a member of
the public except the
3371 people who voted
for this clown thanks to
Jed York’s PAC.
Park never won an
election until Jed York
saw Park could be
bought. Shameful.
And Park and Jain will be sworn in next Tuesday. My Christmas wish is they are sworn in last and a good majority of the attendees gets up and walks out in protest.
Howard you are way too nice.
And this comment by you just proved it.
After reading your comment, I decided, heck it’s the Christmas Season.
Let’s just say I was going to use a quote from Forrest Gump, and it was not the one about the “Life is like a Box of Chocolates…..”
Weird but I also started to sing the old song by Sonny and Cher, “And the Beat goes on”.
At the end of the day, is Santa Clara better today than we were just 60 days ago?
Some might argue that nothing has changed. I will argue that everything has changed…for the better.
Sure we will still get the short end of every 49er Council Vote, but I have to believe that “Better days” are ahead for our City. I have too.
Get the popcorn out, “It’s a Wonderful Life” is playing soon….
Remember what Clarence says to George, “No man is a failure who has friends”. Howard you have a lot of friends here in our City.
Merry Christmas to all.

When Park first started running for office, I think it was 2012, I was the first to donate to his campaign. He and I agreed on most things at that point. I remember him telling me it was hard to get elected because Asians didn’t turn out to vote a lot. I looked it up and he was right. That is one reason I was so pissed that Santa Clara was declared racist because we had not elected an Asian for council. What Crap!! Then Park was convinced to place the race card and become a victim. He then became beholden to special interests, and we all know the rest. He also turned just a little crazy in the mean time, IMHO. That is my experience with him and why I think I am being more accurate than kind.
Burt, I missed that last line of yours. Thank you, and obviously you do as well. It is indeed a wonderful life.
Jay Reed to park 2021,, “money from 49ers”
Some people go into politics to change things and politics ends up changing them, and not for the better. I think that is what happened to Kevin Park years ago.
Becker is the tip of the iceberg, the fall guy, the useful idiot, etc. Park and Jain were no less complicit in committing either unethical or flat out criminal conduct. Same with the 49ers cartel. Rosen had to do something so he went after the easiest choice of targeting Becker. Rosen has been feckless as a district attorney and Googins the same as the city attorney. It is a travesty that not one 49er executive has been charged with a crime re what has transpired. So both Park and Jain knew Becker committed a crime and said nothing, showing their allegiance to Jed York over the 120,000 Citizens of Santa Clara. Just think of all the critical issues Becker voted on because Jain and Park covered his crimes. Frankly, what have Park and Jain done for their respective districts needs?? Nothing at all. With FIFA and the Superbowl coming, most of ourcouncil and city staffs time will be spent on placating the 49ers, just as it has been for years. No wonder the Santa Clara Swim Center literally rotted under the watch of the 49er 5.
