The Santa Clara Unified School District (SCUSD) Board of Trustees meets tonight and the fate of some of the Westside Little League fields hangs in the balance as previously reported.
The meeting will be at 5 p.m. at the SCUSD offices located at 1889 Lawrence Road, Santa Clara. Because of an executive session, the facilities master plan will likely be heard after 6 p.m.

SCUSD faces criticism from the community for taking away green spaces that are used by the Little League and the neighborhood as they build out their facility master plan.
The community has supported SCUSD with over $1.5 billion (yup, billion) in bond revenue for facilities in the last 20 years. So this plan doesn’t seem to make sense or take into concern community needs.
(Hmm, wonder when SCUSD will want to do their next bond measure and if they plan on building community support.)
My first thought when I heard this lat night on the news was the Joni Mitchell song, thanks for making that point. I hope the community doesn’t support this nonsense.
