Mayor Lisa Gillmor was part of a panel of Mayors at the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s 2025 Economic Forecast.
Gillmor spoke on Santa Clara’s economic landscape including the boom in AI, Nvidia’s rapid growth, and Sutter Health’s expansion to North Santa Clara.
Gillmor also addressed land use and development in the Mission City.
Santa Clara has more economic activity than most other Bay Area cities.
More details about Gillmor’s remarks and some key developments will be reported in the coming weeks.

Anyone surprised?
I was glad I bought a ticket to attend this sold out event yesterday. It was worth every penny. I hope the SVBJ will do a story outlining not just what Mayors Gillmor, Matt Mahan, Mark Turner (Morgan Hill) and Raj Salwan (Fremont) shared about their respective cities but point out the wonderful camaraderie between these leaders. The attendees got many good laughs from the good-natured barbs between these mayors.
In this time of uncertainty, it was a great opportunity to laugh and appreciate these leaders who are going through challenging times and making important decisions with their councils for the good of their cities.
