From the San Francisco Chronicle story:
Anthony Becker, a former Santa Clara city official whose political career was backed with millions in San Francisco 49ers donations, was sentenced Friday to 40 days in a county work program in the wake of his felony conviction for perjury.
This is a developing story.
If it was up to me I would send him to that prison in El Salvador.
Jain and Park spoke at the sentencing yesterday in favor of no jail time for Becker. Makes me wonder why?
While I understand that they are friends, the optics of speaking on his behalf are not good.
Sometimes you just need to read the room (or the city in this instance) and move on.
All I wanted was to say how this whole ordeal had affected me and how the 49ers, and Becker ruined my life, and my health. The Judge wouldn’t even let me finish speaking. As far as I know I was the only one who wasn’t allowed to say everything I wanted to say.
This person deserves jail time for each time he pushed back sentencing and hide behind laws to provent justice. Did the ball park pay off for him to get such a lite sentence. Judge should be investigated.
To think if the niners had their way this joker would be our mayor.
Work? That’s a four letter word that Becker, Park, and CSC know nothing anything about, without parasitically mooching off taxpayers. Imagine that it comes to a judicial process to require or “motivate” one to “work.” My parents led me astray. I shoulda grew up gettin’ a government job.
He can pick up trash along Lafayette street or the bike trail near the stadium.
That’s a big nothing-burger.
