It’s been a while since Santa Clara News Online handed out the Leg Drop and Jabroni Awards.
Then Super Bowl LX hit town. Like any mega-card, it came with a main event, a stacked undercard, and at least one guy who sprinted in after the final bell to cut a rambling promo.
The Good – Leg Drop Award
Santa Clara Police Department
Super Bowl week wasn’t “just traffic.” It was a full-blown stadium spectacle with real stakes for the Mission City.
SCPD served as the lead law enforcement agency for planning and implementing public safety operations at and around Levi’s Stadium. They coordinated with regional, state, and federal partners.
Officers had long shifts and lots of overtime. Fans and residents got through the Super Bowl safely.
That’s a clean, high-impact Leg Drop.

The Bad – Jabroni Award
Anthony Becker
About 48 hours after the Super Bowl, when Santa Clara was still soaking up national attention, convicted felon Becker showed up at the City Council meeting and grabbed the mic anyway.
He spoke for over ten minutes and unloaded a greatest-hits set of “mostly conspiracy theories,” including claiming SCNO got him fired from one or more jobs.
Santa Clara had a victory lap. Becker tried to turn it into a grievance match.
That’s Jabroni behavior.

I do know this, that forever Becker will always be known First and foremost here in Santa Clara as “Convicted Felon” Becker.
Think about it??? In 25, 35, or even 45+ years Becker will still be a “Convicted Felon”.
You would think that sliding back under a slimy rock would be a at least a better option, but…. apparently grabbing a microphone at a Public Santa Clara City Council Meeting as a “Convicted Felon” is an option?
Ok, box checked
However then to take the time and effort to confirm once again just how much better our City is without him than it ever was with him is a bonus.
Anyone want to guess what this Convicted Felon will do next?
Really sad because I think this person had some genuine positive potential at one point in his life.
I really hate to make fun of anyone, but seriously grabbing a microphone at a City Council meeting and then proceeding to make a public fool of themselves falls on their own shoulders. Really tough to blame the Mayor for this one…. it’s on video.
