Santa Clara will celebrate Juneteenth with a free evening concert in Central Park tonight, Friday, June 19.
The event, presented in partnership with the Santa Clara City Library, will feature The Dynamic Miss Faye Carol as the headliner. The concert runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the lawn directly behind Central Park Library, 909 Kiely Blvd.
The program will include jazz, blues, gospel, R&B and more.
Special performances will include Tshaka M. Campbell, the first Black Poet Laureate of Santa Clara County, and Abayomi Lewis, a recent American Idol Top 20 contestant.
Food will be available for purchase from several food trucks, including La Burbuja Food Truck, Luv’s Brownies, The Waffle Roost, Kona Ice and Chubby’s Chicken.
Alcohol is not permitted at the event.
The Pavilion parking lot is currently closed, but other parking options are available, including the Central Park Library lot and garage at 2635 Homestead Road, St. Justin School parking lot at 2655 Homestead Road, the Community Recreation Center lot at 969 Kiely Blvd., and parking near Patricia Drive at 2625 Patricia Drive.
