The Houserockers Bring Rock and Soul to Santa Clara Central Park Friday

By Robert Haugh

Santa Clara’s Concerts in the Park series continues today, Friday, July 31, with one of the Bay Area’s most popular party bands.

The Houserockers will perform from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Central Park, 909 Kiely Blvd.

The free concert will be held on the lawn directly behind the Central Park Library. Concertgoers should bring blankets or lawn chairs.

The Houserockers are a 10-piece rock and soul band featuring a five-piece horn section and a full rhythm section.

The Northern California band performs an energetic mix of rock, blues, funk, soul and R&B. Its setlists range from classic performers such as The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, The Beatles, Van Morrison and Earth, Wind & Fire to more recent artists including Bruno Mars and CeeLo Green.

The band has been performing throughout the Bay Area for more than 20 years.

The Houserockers were voted Best Local Band in the 2025 Metro Readers Poll. The group also won KFOX Radio’s Last Band Standing competition, earning recognition as the Best Cover Band in the Bay Area.

Food and refreshments will be available for purchase from Akita Sushi, Fire & Slice, BBQ Kalbi, Kona Ice and Churros El Guero.

Alcohol is not permitted at the event.

Parking may be a little more challenging than usual. The Central Park Pavilion parking lot is currently closed, and parking in the area is limited.

City officials are encouraging attendees to walk, bike or carpool when possible.

Additional parking is available at the Central Park Library lot, 2635 Homestead Road; the Community Recreation Center lot, 969 Kiely Blvd.; and along Patricia Drive near 2625 Patricia Drive.

The concert is part of Santa Clara’s free summer Concerts in the Park series.
