The Santa Clara City Council and Stadium Authority has another special meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, August 25, 2026. 

Here’s the agenda items:

• Action to Conduct Applicant Interviews and Appoint Two Applicants to the Civil Service Commission to Serve One Partial Term ending June 30, 2028, and One Full Term Ending June 30, 2030. There are four applicants — Barbara Estrada, Karl Lopes, Tyrrell Nelson, and Timothy Tsai.  

• Recognition of Outgoing Commissioners on the Board of Library Trustees, Civil Service Commission, Cultural Commission, Historical and Landmarks Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission and Senior Advisory Commission

• Recognition of the 2026 Mission Meets the Moment Campaign Sponsors — the sponsors were Intel, Bloom Energy, Coresite, DevCon, Sutter Health, TransTech, Prologis, and The Morley Bros. 

• Public Hearing: Action on Appeal (PLN26-00318) of a Project Located at 860 and 858 Civic Center Drive and 1526 Alviso Street of an Approval of an Architectural Review Permit (PLN24-00533) for the Demolition of Existing Buildings and Construction of Three Separate Multi-Family Buildings Resulting in 14 Townhomes and a Duplex Building With Commercial Space and Determination of Statutory Exemption from CEQA per Public Resources Code Section 21080.66 (AB 130 (2025)

• Public Hearing: Action on a Vesting Tentative Subdivision Map (PLN24-00665) for 147 Units and One Commercial Building Located at 3521 and 3591 Homestead Road, Subject to Senate Bill (SB) 330 (2019). CEQA: Determine that the Vesting Tentative Map Application is Within the Scope of the Adopted MND

• Consideration of a Historic Resource Designation for the Tiburcio Vasquez Gravesite Located in Santa Clara Mission Cemetery

• Action on the City Council’s Response to the Santa Clara County Civil Grand Jury Report Entitled “Pothole Damage: Improving claims processes within Santa Clara County”

• Action on the City Council’s Response to the Santa Clara County Civil Grand Jury Report Entitled “VTA’s Management and Oversight of BART Silicon Valley Phase II”

• Action on a Council Written Request (Council Policy 030) Submitted by Councilmember Suds Jain to Place an Item on a Future Agenda Regarding a Dedicated Manager Responsible for Sustainability Activities such as Increasing Recycling, Reducing Water Usage, Increasing Composting, and Reducing Carbon Emissions, and Tracking Related Metrics
