Saturday, May 27
Healthy Asian Cooking with Chef Cory – Chicken Lettuce Wrap
2 p.m. Central Park Library – Redwood Room, 2635 Homestead Road
Chef Cory is the owner and Executive Chef of Yan Can Asian Bistro at Rivermark Plaza. He will teach how to make the dish and sample it. This program is funded by Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara. Space is limited. Arrive early.

1 p.m., 50 Saratoga Avenue
Chabad Santa Clara hosts the welcoming Santa Clara’s first-ever sefer Torah. Festivities include dancing, Israeli style lunch, roof-top bar and a “Build-a-Torah” workshop.
Monday, May 29
Memorial Day ceremony at Santa Clara Veterans Memorial
3 p.m., Santa Clara Veterans Memorial at Central Park, 909 Kiely Blvd.
This annual event honors those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in fighting for freedom. The event features speeches by local luminaries, veterans agencies, a rifle volley, playing of Taps and more.
ISA Charity Basketball Game 2017: Bay Area
6 p.m. doors, 7 p.m. game, Wilcox High School, 3250 Monroe Street
International Secret Agents hosts their 4th Annual charity basketball game – for the first time it is being held in the Bay Area. The festivities include a celebrity basketball game, fan halftime skills challenges, giveaways and more. Players will include Phillip Wong (Wong Fu productions), D-Trix, Jason Lee (Jubilee project), Yoshi Sudarso (Power Rangers), Peter Sudarso (Power Rangers), Ryan Bergara (Buzzfeed), Mike Bow (ISAtv), Steven Lim (Buzzfeed), AJ Rafael and more. Wilcox High, San Jose Ninja Youth Basketball and GAMETIME basketball will also have players in the game. $5 suggested donation at the door. Donations will benefit Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy.

Community Conversation Regarding Farm at Peterson
6 to 8 p.m., Peterson Middle School cafeteria, 1380 Rosalia Ave., Sunnyvale
Santa Clara Unified School District will share details on their vision for the site that was Full Circle Farm. Recently, the School Board voted to not to renew the lease with the educational agricultural farm and is exploring options for the property.

50th Annual Santa Clara International Arena Pro Grand Prix Series Swim Meet
George F. Haines International Swim Center, 2625 Patricia Drive (in Central Park)
Some of the World’s best swimmers (video link) as well as the best regional swimmers will be competing in this event, which is the fifth and final leg of the Arena Pro points season. Current Arena Pro series Men’s points leader Chase Kalisz and women’s points leader Katie Ledecky are among those pre-entered. Past competitors include Michael Phelps, Natalie Coughlin and many more of the most well-known Olympic swim stars. Hosted by the highly-acclaimed Santa Clara Swim Club, the event brings World class competition to Silicon Valley.

10 a.m., 1270 Franklin Mall in Franklin Square
Illusive Comics & Games celebrates its 10th anniversary on Wonder Woman Day. The event will feature free comic books, a comic book signing and cake.
