San Jose Chief Innovation Officer to Speak at Winchester Neighborhood Action Coalition

San Jose Chief Innovation Officer to Speak at Winchester Neighborhood Action Coalition

Submitted by Kirk Vartan, President WNAC

Editor’s Note: Today, instead of a column, Kirk Vartan is sharing information about a meeting that is focused primarily on San Jose. But since the Winchester Neighborhood Association borders Santa Clara, we thought it would be of interest.

On Wednesday, June 21 at 6:30 p.m., the Winchester Neighborhood Action Coalition (WNAC) will be hosting Shireen Santosham, Chief Innovation Officer in San Jose’s Mayor Liccardo’s office. San Jose recently released and RFI for how autonomous cars can be deployed and utilized in the City and also recently announced a desire for autonomous car opportunities from downtown to the airport.

Please join the WNAC at the Cypress Senior Center, 403 Cypress Ave, San Jose at 6:30 p.m. for an informative discussion on how autonomous cars could change everything from our transportation challenges to affordable housing! Bring your questions!

Arrive by 6:15 p.m. for a complimentary pizza and cannoli dinner.

About the WNAC:

For almost 15 years, the Winchester Neighborhood Action Coalition (WNAC) has been working with the City of San Jose and local communities to affect and improve development and the quality of life in the Winchester area. It has a long success record including streetscape changes, LED street light and pedestrian lighting implementation, business district formulation, long range planning with both San Jose’s Redevelopment Agency and Planning Departments, and its members are on the local Urban Village Advisory Groups (WAG and SCAG), focused on the Winchester, Santana Row/Valley Fair, and Stevens Creek Urban Villages.

Today, the WNAC has expanded its boundaries to incorporate the Tri-Village area that includes Santa Clara, and it continues its tradition of monthly meetings and hosting discussions with community, developers, and technology strategists. We meet monthly on the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Cypress Senior Center at 403 Cypress Ave, San Jose, just west of Santana Row/Valley Fair.
