Fall is here. Here are a few upcoming events in and around the Mission City.

Saturday, September 23       

Wilcox School Football League Opener at Levi’s Stadium

3:30 p.m. at Levi’s Stadium


The Wilcox Chargers (1-2) open their Santa Clara Valley Athletic League De Anza division slate against the Los Altos Eagles (1-2)

Saturday, September 23 and Sunday, September 24

15th Annual Magical Glass Pumpkin Patch show & Sale

Los Gatos High School, 20 High School Court, Los Gatos, 95030

10 a.m. both days

Over 3,500+ glass pumpkins, all handmade by local glass artists for show and sale on the front lawn of Los Gatos High school. Pumpkins range from $29 to $800 or more for giant ornate works of art. Live flame-working demonstrations on Sunday. Portion of proceeds benefit high school art and leadership programs. Almost $200,000 donated to date.

2017 State of the District Address & Awards Ceremony

UC Santa Cruz Silicon Valley Campus, 3175 Bowers Ave, Santa Clara, 95054

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., event 6 to 8 p.m.

Hosted by State Senator Bob Wieckowski, this event will feature the Senator’s annual report on accomplishments in Sacramento this session and updates on progress in the community. In addition,  several award winners from throughout the 10th Senate District will be honored, including Santa Clara’s Raj Chahal.

Award recipients: Chahal; Michael Gross; Linda Johnson; Andy Nguyen; Union City Friends of Sister Cities, Family Giving Tree, League of Women Voters Eden Area, Fremont-Newark-Union City and San Jose-Santa Clara Chapters and Dr. Harry Edwards.
