AWARDS: Best and Worst of the Week — Nancy Biagini and Lou Mariani

By Robert Haugh

The Good — The Leg Drop Award:

Nancy Biagini was appointed to the Planning Commission. Kudos to Nancy. The “Final Four” candidates were all women. The other three candidates will be on an “eligibility list.” So it’s likely the next appointee will be a woman, too. St. Clare would be proud.

The Bad — The Jabroni Award:

Lou Mariani has a massive development project on the El Camino. It’s near a neighborhood. It doesn’t fit the general plan.  To make it worse, Mariani has been shooting himself in the foot for years. He hires controversial lobbyists/consultants who register then unregister. And some who don’t.

But we still like the Mariani Packing Company products.

  1. I agree on both Robert.

I think Nancy is a great choice, she’s very civic-minded and listens to the residents.

If I lost as much money as Lou has for his family, my big brother would kick my butt. I’m not really a big fan of their fruit & nut products either.
