Three of Four Santa Clarans Have Responded to Census, There’s Still Time to Reply

Almost three out of four Mission City residents have been counted by the census. That’s good compared to the rest of California.  

Santa Clara has a 74.5 percent response rate as of September 1.  

The State has a 67.9 percent response rate for 2020 so far. 

Both the County and State are doing better than the last census. According to City staff, Santa Clara’s 2010 response rate was 71.8 percent. California’s response rate was 67.2 percent.

But we’re way behind the top states. Wow.

The census is key for allocating congressional districts and distributing federal dollars. 

There’s still time to respond. Here’s how:

  • Go online to
  • Call 844-330-2020 and respond by phone.
  • Send a paper form via mail.
