Yesterday, The City opened all park playgrounds in Santa Clara.
Park visitors are required to follow the park rules. That includes obeying playground capacity limits and wearing face coverings.
In a City press release, Mayor Lisa Gillmor said:
“We know the importance of play for the health and wellness of Santa Clarans, and we are excited that new health orders allow the City to reopen playgrounds for our community to enjoy. With so many parents at home with their children doing remote learning, it’s even more important to get outside and let kids be kids, but we have to do it safely.”
Park and Recreation staff have power washed, sanitized, and installed new touchless hand sanitizer stations. New health and safety signs are set up at each City playground.
The City has a new public outreach campaign called “Play It Safe, Santa Clara.” The campaign will communicate the latest safety protocols to residents.
