Last month, the Santa Clara Fire and Police Department Honor Guards honored the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and gave tribute to the fallen heroes.
In attendance were Mayor Lisa Gillmor, Councilmembers Anthony Becker, Suds Jain and Kathy Watanabe.
Conspicuous by their absence were Council members Raj Chahal, Karen Hardy and Kevin Park.
City Council calendars were just released for the month of September. The calendars for Chahal, Hardy, and Park reveal that they could have attended the event but they chose not to do so. It was a Saturday morning.
Chahal, Hardy, and Park had no conflicting events on their calendars. None.
The event was held at Santa Clara City Hall. All three Councilmembers live within a 10-minute drive of City Hall.
Is this an attempt to be relatable by the ghoulish Park? Of course you missed the mark..
Thanks for keeping your awkward face off the council zoom meetings. It makes them a little more tolerable. It’s bad enough we have to look at Becker.
What would you expect from these want to be Marxist. A few years ago I thought Raj was someone reasonable, not anymore. He’s just following the playbook.

In Santa Clara there are so many awful public figures, I love to bash them ! Mostly my comments get censored and unpublished. I’ll continue to take shots at Kevin Park every chance I get. Same with Hardy, Chahal, Becker, Jain, and anyone from the 49ers. All of these people need to understand that there are a lot of that want to see them struggle and in the end fail.
Connie C is this really you or your sister Mary G. We all know that the Grizzler swore off commenting on this site but maybe the temptation is to great??? Don’t blame Robert Haugh if Hardy, Chahal and Park have no respect for the brave lives lost on 9/11. Heck it’s a known fact the three of them and Jain hate our police and fire heroes.

These three fools also voted to defund our police department and fire department, leaving all Santa Clarans in great risk everyday. Their absence at this solemn event was noticed at the time and serves to show their utter contempt for the men and women in public safety who have sworn to serve and protect us.
Robert, thank you for your excellent reporting on our council members. Do you have any idea why the city council meetings are still zoom meetings?? I believe it’s to escape the wrath of citizens attending in person and have to face them eye to eye, and it also stifles actual interaction between people which is so much more powerful than a zoom meeting. Do you happen to know Robert when in person meetings are going to start again or why they haven’t already?? Keep up the great work!
