Santa Clara University Returns to In-Person Classes This Week

By Robert Haugh

This week, Santa Clara University (SCU) students returned to in-person classes.

Many local businesses around the campus were relieved and expect to see an uptick in student customers soon.

SCU students returning to campus must take Covid tests twice during the first week.

All undergraduate and graduate students living on campus are required to self-test throughout the term. SCU will monitor these tests to make sure students are complying.

Employees must take a Covid test on their first day back to campus.

SCU will restrict meals on campus. All meals will be provided to-go with outdoor seating available.

SCU hopes to return to indoor dining and late-night food service by mid-February, depending on infection rates and Santa Clara County guidelines.
