Yelp Ranks Santa Clara’s Ramen Hajime as Fifth Best Ramen Restaurant in California

By Robert Haugh

Today is National Ramen Day.  And Yelp has released its Top 100 Ramen Spots in California.

Santa Clara’s Ramen Hajime ranks #5 in the state. It’s located at the intersection of Stevens Creek and Lawrence Expressway.

Here’s what Yelp wrote:

You don’t need to travel to Japan to enjoy ramen crafted by a master. As the founder of Ramen Hajime, Hajime Kitayama has had an interest in the culinary world from a young age. More than a decade ago, he became a co-owner of a ramen shop in San Diego, and it became so popular that he sold up to 948 bowls a day. Fast forward to the present, when Ramen Hajime is setting itself apart with its own uniquely crafted ramen.

Be sure to try one of their signature Kiwami ramen bowls (with your choice of tonkotsu, shoyu, spicy miso, or vegan broths), or “build” your own custom bowl.

Kudos to Ramen Hajime.

The restaurant joins other notable Mission City eateries that have been recognized by Yelp.

Achilles Restaurant was ranked 9th on Yelp’s 2019 “Must Try” restaurants in the U.S.

The legendary Stan’s Donuts was ranked 8th best donut shop in the U.S. last year.

Popular pizza spot, A Slice of New York was among Yelp’s Top 100 pizzerias in 2022 in the U.S.

  1. Man, this sounds really good.
Question, Do you know if this restaurant would make any deliveries to any local Prisons, Jails or even a Holding Cell?
Wait can I say “Holding Cell”?
Man I digress way too fast.
    Soooo
Just try to imagine how bad this all could have been.
Mayor Gillmor won the election by just 700 to 800 votes, what if just 350 or 400 people had changed their mind and voted for this “Winner”?
We are talking Twilight Zone episode stuff here. And anytime my Home Town and a potential Twilight Zone episode is mentioned, it’s never a good thing.

So when this “former” 49er Council Member goes off to Jail, I promise I to start a Go Fund Me account for his Prison / Jail Commissary Card.
