The Silicon Valley Central Chamber of Commerce (formerly the Santa Clara Chamber) named John Elwood its new Board Chair for a one-year term.

Elwood recently served as Kylli’s Executive Vice President of Real Estate Development. According to multiple sources, Elwood recently left Kylli for a new venture that he has not publicly announced.

Kylli originally proposed a mega development in North Santa Clara. But they were forced to downsize by the Federal Aviation Administration because of the potential impact on air traffic from San Jose Mineta International Airport.

The development has been reduced and the original staff and consulting team have been turned over. Kylli has not replaced Elwood yet according to their website. 

Elwood replaces Christian Pellecchia of Slatter Construction as the Chamber’s Board Chair.

Pellecchia resigned from the Chamber board last month. He is expected to announce his candidacy soon for Santa Clara City Council Seat District 3 against Councilmember Karen Hardy.
