Silicon Valley Central Chamber of Commerce Loses CEO

By Robert Haugh

After two years, Silicon Valley Central Chamber of Commerce (SVCCC) President/CEO Christian Malesic will be moving on.

Malesic announced that he will be the new Executive Director of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Greater Dallas, TX. He’ll represent the commercial real estate industry in the area.

The SVCCC has had three CEOs in the last five years. Malesic replaced Christian Pellecchia in January 2021.

Pellecchia was an SVCCC board member who took over for six months after former CEO Nick Kaspar left in June 2020.

In November, Pellecchia lost his City Council race to incumbent Santa Clara City Councilmember Karen Hardy.

Kaspar lost his job last November when his boss, San Jose City Coucilmember Maya Esparza lost her re-election campaign.

“It was serendipity that I became available as the SVC Chamber needed my particular skillset as a turnaround CEO,” Malesic said in a press release yesterday.

SVCC Board Chair John Elwood will lead the effort to find Malesic’s replacement.

“We anticipate the chamber making an announcement in the very near future,” said Elwood in a press release.
