Santa Clara Salary Setting Commission Seeks Candidates for Appointments

By Robert Haugh

The City is looking for applicants for the Salary Setting Commission.

It’s the Commission that sets the salaries for our Mayor, Council, City Clerk and Police Chief.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a chance to weigh in on the City Manager and City Attorney’s salaries. The City Council makes those decisions.

Both recent hires by the Council majority are making over $400,000 annually, not counting benefits that still haven’t been publicly disclosed.

The Commission operates more transparently. You can find out more about the Commission and apply here

The deadline is Monday, February 27, 2023, by 5 p.m. There are two positions available.

  1. Seems Jed York should apply since he wants to control City so much. Give his minions a raise. Pay the salaries too.
