Source: Good Chance Super Bowl 60 Coming to Santa Clara

By Robert Haugh

Sports fans are still talking about Super Bowl LVII and the Kansas City Chiefs’ incredible 38-35 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Now, speculation has started about where the Super Bowl might be played in 2026.

Las Vegas has been tabbed for Super Bowl LVIII on February 10, 2024.

And Super Bowl LIX will be played on February 9, 2025, in the Superdome in New Orleans.

According to multiple sources, Santa Clara is on the shortlist for Super Bowl LX, in February 2026.

Levis’ Stadium hosted Super Bowl 50 in 2016 when the Denver Broncos beat the Carolina Panthers 24-10. That was quarterback Peyton Manning‘s final game.

Former City Councilman Kevin Moore is telling Mission City residents he’s confident we’ll be hosting again given the strong bid package.

Moore was on the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee Advisory Group. He was appointed by then-Mayor Jamie Matthews.

Matthews resigned suddenly and mysteriously the day after the Super Bowl in 2016.

Moore is so confident, he’s even doctored an old photo of himself to have it ready for Super Bowl 60 and maybe his next book.

Let’s hope he’s right.

  1. Have the 49er 5 approved this with the FIFA bid? Is Santa Clara getting a 2-fer? BOGO? Al Guido is really going to fleece SC? Isn’t World Cup in 2026?

  2. What a wonderful idea! Last time the event was so successful, the Mayor quit politics entirely, the city manger Fuentes was fired/quit (who knows), city attorney Noskey quit, multiple other senior staff quit in the run-up, and San Jose along with San Francisco stole all the major star-studded events and the supposed event profits (hotel tot, rental space, restaurant tax, etc.).

Let’s do it again Santa Clara!
