Santa Clara University’s Jalen Williams Named to NBA All-Rookie First Team

Jalen Williams starred for the Santa Clara University Broncos last year before being picked 12th in the NBA draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

He was recently named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.

Williams was named Western Conference Rookie of the Month last November. He averaging 10.7 points and 3.2 rebounds per game while shooting 52.4 percent from the field.

Williams became a regular starter in December for the Thunder and tallied 62 starts in 75 appearances as a rookie. 

Williams won the Rookie of the Month award for a second time in March, putting up 18.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. 

The former Bronco finished the 2022-23 season averaging 14.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 52.1 percent from the field and 35.6 percent from 3-point range.

The last Bronco to be selected to the NBA All-Rookie team was Steve Nash.

Nash was drafted as the 15th overall pick by the Phoenix Suns in the 1996 NBA Draft. He earned a spot on the NBA All-Rookie Team for the 1996-1997 season.
