City Council Preview: November 2024 Ballot Feasibility

Tonight’s Santa Clara City Council meeting has only a few items. It should be a rather quick meeting. But you never know with this City Council.

Here are some items:

  • Study Session – Joint City Council and Historical and Landmarks Commission Meeting
  • Proclaim February 2024 as Black History Month
  • Recognition of the Santa Clara Lions 12U Team
  • Public Hearing: Action on a Tentative Parcel Map at 2360 Mission College Boulevard for the Creation of Three Lots
  • Public Hearing: Overview of the November 2024 Elections Process Timelines and Feasibility for Potential City Ballot Measures

  1. Yes; vote “No” on Measures A and B. Also, we of the famous Aquatics programs of this city are awaiting the council’s “promise” to let us back into the ISC temporarily come the end of this month. It’s in the books (i.e., a motion unanimously passed to let us back into the water 30 days from the big City Council meeting on Jan. 30th), but there are no signs of portable bathrooms or showers being erected.

    • I don’t care what Dana Caldwell is doing, but I am cheering for him…
      I heard “they” (The 49er Council Members) might be going after him now.
      Speak up for Santa Clara… and you will get removed from any volunteer position you may hold.

      By the way, how did it look when “they” removed me from as a Volunteer Parks and Rec Commisioner?

      So the irony is the person who led this removal is now looking at getting removed himself, however if that happens it will be a lot different than me getting removed from my volunteer position.
      It might even include a new Orange Jump Suit, a roommate or two, and a commissary card loaded with a few dollars so he can get his favorite noodle soup or cookies.

      By the way, I hate the term Ironic, or Irony, it never seems to be a good situation for anyone.
      And yes, I’m tired of making fun of the City I grew up in. I’m tired of Santa Clara being the “Punchline” for any jokes.
      Get others out to vote, and make sure they understand that our Cities future is at stake here. This is not a joke.
