The 49ers played a great game yesterday but could not stop the Kansas City Chiefs from walking away with their second consecutive Super Bowl trophy.
The Chiefs prevailed in overtime 25-22. It was a heartbreaking loss for a 49ers team that has a league-high nine Pro Bowlers.
Congratulations to the Chiefs and their fans.
Congratulations to the 49ers players, coaches, and football operations for an outstanding season.
I could chip in for a Participation Trophy for jed. Anyone else?
“Just Karma, Baby”
Yes, it would have great for the niners to win, but Jed York is most undeserving of the accolades of a winner for what he has done to our city. The parade would have been in San Francisco, with Santa Clara an afterthought. Give it a week and we will be bombarded by the Special Interest Groups, with the 49ers financing, in order to steal our right to elect our police chief.
It would have been great if Gilmore made the bet with Kansas City mayor instead of London Breed. She could have bet Jed York and gotten rid of him!
Bummer…., great game, but in the end, taking the ball first in OT turned out to be the fatal flaw.
Once the other team knew exactly what they had to do to win the Super Bowl, everything just came into focus just that more clearer.
All strategy now focused on one thing, and one thing only…. “Win or go home in second”.
From the time they got the ball down 3 in OT, they were locked into “4 Down” mentality.
