Today, the City will hold a meeting for youth sports organizations and the community to discuss the City’s field and facility use program.
Santa Clara News Online has heard complaints for the last two years that City fees have been raised, but there’s been no noticeable improvements in Santa Clara facilities.
Many Santa Clarans are also concerned that the increased cost will not be affordable for many leagues, teams, or Mission City families.
It should be a good turnout even though it’s held during the day when many parents need to work.
Here are the details for the meeting:
TIME: Thursday, March 14 from 1– 2:30 p.m.

When people pay and reserve park spaces they increasingly treat that space as their private campsite. By that I mean they drive their vehicles into the park proper and park them inside no parking/ driving zones. So when other people go for a walk in a smaller sized park they end up walking around cars (that should not be there) blocking footpaths. These private cars are unsightly inside a small neighborhood park. Some weekends during the summer I have counted five private vehicles parked together way inside a small park. This spoils the park for others enjoyment.
I don’t know if this meeting addresses parking issues, but it also is in need of being looked into. People should be asked how much equipment they will bring to their event beforehand, and be asked to reserve spots in Central Park that has carts if they have too much to bring in by foot.
