On Friday, the San Francisco Chronicle broke the story that 49ers CEO Al Guido signed World Cup deals that could cost Santa Clara $38 million. Guido did it without an official City Council vote.
Councilmember Karen Hardy led the effort to approve the deal in 2022, although she didn’t seem to know any details
The 49er Five have signed an agreement that keeps the deal’s details secret.
Mayor Lisa Gillmor and Councilmember Kathy Watanabe refused to sign the agreement.
Today, there will be an executive closed session to discuss 49ers litigation and other major stadium issues.
The meeting starts at 5 p.m.

How is this malfeasance by Bay Area politicians? It’s Malfeasance by 49ers CEO doing something behind peoples backs! Plus what was the the result from last years Insider trading by the 49ers Jed York? I know he denied it but I never saw proof either way??
All these years all of my families support of the 49ers. Let’s go team. This is super non specific. I truly appreciate all the city, county and the 49ers executive staff can come to an contractual agreement that works for all, including the long standing and new fans who love the the team.
